City were hard at work at the City Football Academy this afternoon ahead of Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final.

We welcome Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United to the Etihad Stadium for a 17:30 (UK) on 16 March.

Victory will see us become the first team in history to reach the final four of the competition for a sixth successive season.

City v Newcastle match preview

That run of semi-final appearances began in 2019/20, with a 2-0 win over the Magpies at St James’ Park.

It is the fourth meeting between the sides this season, with City winning both Premier League clashes and Newcastle knocking us out of the Carabao Cup.

We enjoy a strong record in home games against Eddie Howe’s side having won 15 of our last 16 home games against Newcastle in all competitions, including the last nine in a row.

We will have to play without Kevin De Bruyne and Ederson this weekend as the pair are injured but there is positive news as Jack Grealish has returned to contention.
