Training gallery: Spirits high after Carabao Cup progress

Pep Guardiola’s first team players are now in the thick of the festive football calendar as 2022 comes to a close shortly.

After beating Liverpool 3-2 in the Carabao Cup Fourth Round on Thursday night, we now have Leeds United upcoming at Elland Road in the Premier League next Wednesday.

That’s followed up with a New Year’s Eve home clash with Everton, again in the top-flight.

Guardiola’s men put in a real shift to beat the Reds in a frenetic game at the Etihad.

So it was a case of recuperation in the gym for the players heavily involved following their exertions against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

For others in the squad, they were out on the grass, in murky, miserable conditions at the CFA.

The whole squad, though, will be looking to brighten up the lives of City fans this Christmas as the games come thick and fast.
