City defender Aymeric Laporte joined the Premier League trophy in Agen for the first stop of the Club's 2022 Trophy Tour, presented by OKX,

Returning to his hometown, the City defender brought the trophy back to his former club, SU Agen, where he began playing football at just five years old.

He said of the visit: “I’m very happy. It’s always a pleasure to come back to Agen and show the Premier League trophy to all the kids.

“I was born in this town, and it has a special place in my heart.”

The four-time Premier League winner received a warm welcome from supporters, who were also given the opportunity to take pictures with the Premier League trophy and Laporte himself.

After a photoshoot and some autographs, the Mayor of Agen, Jean Dionis du Sejour, awarded the medal of the town to Laporte, while a stadium was also inaugurated in his name.

And a memorable day finished with an impressive celebratory fireworks display.

Speaking about the stadium being named in his honour, Laporte said: “This means a lot for me. When you start playing, you don’t think about all this stuff, you just want to make it.

“Today, I have a stadium with my name on it and I’m very happy because it is where I played for nine years.”
