To round off City’s community engagement activities on pre-season tour, the Club’s foundation delivered a full day of free, inclusive football sessions for over 150 young people in Green Bay.

Pablo Zabaleta and Joleon Lescott paid a surprise visit to the festival, and were on hand to announce a ticket giveaway, courtesy of Official Club Partner and leading home appliances brand, Midea.

Midea donated more than 100 tickets to enable young participants and their families to watch City in action against Bayern Munich at Lambeau Field.

The football festival took place at Titletown as part of a collaboration with the Green Bay Packers foundation.

Four 90-minute sessions throughout the day led by City in the Community coaches provided groups of young people aged 6-16 with a fun introduction to playing football, learning passing, dribbling and shooting, before finishing with small-sided games.

Pablo Zabaleta said: “Today was a fantastic experience. It was amazing to meet young people from Green Bay and to see them enjoying football and connecting with each other at such an iconic venue.

“It is great to have partners like Midea providing the opportunity for local kids to experience a City game in their hometown, to add to the football clinics they have been part of today.”

Kurt Jovais, president at Midea America said: “With Midea we aim to establish a young, modern and innovative brand for US consumers.

“Our surprisingly friendly products speak to the needs of young families. Soccer is the fastest growing sport in the US, especially among young people, and elicits a passion and excitement seldom found elsewhere.

“That’s what led Midea to our engagement with Manchester City on a global level and the addition of their sister Club NYCFC here in the US.”

During pre-season tour, City’s foundation coaches have delivered several community outreach activities, positively uplifting more than 300 young people in Houston and Green Bay through the power of football.
