This is Simpson-Pusey’s first taste of first-team football, having spent the past season in City’s EDS squad.
The 18-year-old is a composed centre-back who enjoys initiating attacks with his clinical forward passing.
When it comes to defensive duties, Simpson-Pusey is a towering figure in one-v-one situations and an excellent reader of the game..
He’s been part of City’s Academy since the age of eight and over the past decade has become a key figure in every age group he represented.
Simpson-Pusey made the step up to City’s Under-18s for the 2022/23 season, aged 16.
He went on to make 17 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League North as City were crowned national champions after our 2-1 win over West Ham United in the final at the Etihad Stadium.
For the 2023/24 campaign, the defender stepped up again, this time to the EDS to compete in Premier League 2.
Simpson-Pusey tallied some of the highest number of minutes in the league for City, totalling 18 appearances out of a possible 20 and scored his first goal in the competition, adding another layer to his game.
