The Blues began 2026 by extending our Barclays Women’s Super League winning streak to 11 straight matches with a 2-0 triumph over Brian Sorensen’s side.
In what was our first assignment since the end of the winter break, goals from Kerolin and Vivianne Miedema either side of half-time helped us to three points at the Joie Stadium.
It means City remain six points clear at the division’s summit and Greenwood says the victory was a result of Andrée Jeglertz’s side’s hard work in training building up to the match.
“Tactically, Everton are really smart, they try to overload certain areas of the pitch which is sometimes difficult, but I thought we dealt with it really well today.
“The communication was really good, the tactical information we received before the game was spot on. They would always have moments when they got out, but our reaction to recover back and work hard as a team was superb today.
“Those small details are why we won.
“I don’t have any doubts [about our intensity] because I watch the training sessions all week and the intensity, considering we had a couple of weeks off, was top.
“I knew today we’d come in confident and with high intensity because I saw it all week in training and I had no doubts we’d have chances today and we were really solid when we had to defend.”
Speaking after the victory over Everton, Greenwood hailed the performances of both Lauren Hemp and Kerolin against the Toffees.
Brazilian forward, Kerolin, opened the scoring midway through the first half with a trademark skilful run into the box before she dispatched from close range.
Hemp was then pulling the strings during the second half and continually caused the visitors problems down the left.
And City’s captain says it’s a joy to play with the duo.
She added: “For me, I’m stood behind Hempo and I just admire what I see in front of me and it’s the same for Kerolin. She was top today and they both are.
“How lucky are we to have two wingers like that and [have] even more options available. We’re blessed right now and those two were top today.”
