Olivia Smith’s 17th-minute goal was the difference at the Emirates Stadium as we fell to our first Barclays Women’s Super League loss since the opening day of the season.
Regardless of the result in north London, City remain at the division’s summit and enter the final seven top-flight matches of the season with an eight-point lead on second place Manchester United.
And our Head Coach has no doubts that City’s tireless work in pursuit of the title will continue from now until the end of the campaign.
“I’m not worried at all, there’s no doubt that we’ll bounce back,” he declared.
“The players gave everything at the end, but we know the rest of the league will be tough, so we need to handle that in a good way, then we’ll be fine.”
After weathering Arsenal pressure in the first half, City grew into the second 45 as we pushed for a precious equaliser.
That dedication to the cause continued deep into six minutes of added time but the elusive goal evaded us.
However, Jeglertz believes staying in the game in the face of adversity is a positive City can take heading into the final furlongs of the campaign.
He added: “I think we had some struggles sorting out their attack because I think they played through us a little bit too easy.
“It was better in the second half, but they were on a good level today and we weren’t really there for some reason. We were a little bit late in some situations and then you’ll be challenged and exposed by a team like Arsenal.
“I think in the last ten or 15 minutes, even though we struggled in the game, we still gave ourselves a chance.
“That’s a positive, when you have games where you’re not at your highest level but you still create some scoring chances. We saw that in the second half.”
