The England international goalkeeper joins the Blues on a short-term loan deal from NWSL side Orlando Pride.

Early education
Moorhouse returns to English football for the first time in six-and-a-half years, but her formative years were spent just down the road in Oldham.
Playing for local sides in Chadderton before youth spells at Oldham Athletic and Manchester United, Moorhouse eventually joined Everton in 2012.
Moving to Durham two years later, Anna is now returning to her native north west for the first time in almost 13 years.
Familiar faces
Moorhouse has crossed paths with plenty of her new team-mates already at both club and international level.
As well as representing England alongside our City Lionesses, she also reunites with Vivianne Miedema and Beth Mead, after a season together at Arsenal.
Our new stopper made five appearances for the Gunners, helping them win the 2018 League Cup.
FA Cup Final
Fast forward 12 months and our new goalkeeper was an ever-present as West Ham United reached the 2019 FA Cup Final.
They’d face none other than City in the final at Wembley Stadium, with Nick Cushing’s side running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Keira Walsh, Georgia Stanway and Lauren Hemp.
Bordeaux
The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed one more of Moorhouse’s new team-mates who she’d previously lined up with during her time in France.
Our number 14 spent the 2020/21 season alongside Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw at Bordeaux, helping them finish third in Division 1 Feminine.
Shaw finished as the league’s top scorer that season, and Moorhouse can’t wait to work with the Jamaican again.
“She was incredible in France when we were at Bordeaux, and she’s only got better since then,” Anna explained.
“She’s an incredible goalscorer and number nine, to be honest it’s not just her goalscoring ability. I’m excited to be on the same team as her again.”
Family in Orlando
It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for Moorhouse – so much so that she’s had to cancel a visit from her family over in Orlando to complete the move!
“My mum and brother were over [in Orlando] and have a flight home today,” she admitted.
“So, I left them there to deal with it themselves! It’s been a crazy 24 hours.”
Dominance
When asked to describe her best qualities, Moorhouse was quick to point towards her commanding penalty box presence.
Reaching over six feet in height, the stopper relishes an aerial challenge and offers a calming presence between the sticks.
“My best aspect is coming for high balls and dominating the box,” she added.
“It’s something I pride myself on, if you’re going to stick a ball in the box, I’m going to do my best to come and get it and dominate in that aspect.”
Development
Four-and-a-half years is a significant amount of time in a footballer’s career, so it’s no surprise that Anna feels she’s undergone a huge transformation in the NWSL.
Moorhouse joined Orlando Pride in January 2022 and, over the following seasons, feels she’s developed hugely on and off the pitch.
She said: “I think I’ve grown as a person more than anything. I grew up a lot going out there and have grown more into the role of a leader.
“I think you do it naturally with age anyway, but I think I’ve grown into that and just passing on experience and helping younger players.”
Record breaker
With 13 clean sheets, Moorhouse holds the record for the most shutouts in a single NWSL season.
She achieved the feat in 2024, as Orlando Pride claimed both the NWSL Championship and the NWSL shield.
They went unbeaten the entire season, conceding just 20 times in 26 matches.
University
During her early years in the game, Moorhouse juggled academic studies with her footballing career.
She attended Liverpool Hope University between 2013 and 2016 and earned a bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise science.
Number 14
Anna will wear the number 14 shirt during her time at Manchester City.
She’ll be the fifth owner of the shirt, with Nikki Harding, Melissa Lawley, Esme Morgan and Kerolin the only previous players to wear it during our professional era.
