The 20-year-old forward joins the Club from Tokyo Verdy Beleza in her native Japan with an exciting reputation.
Already a fully-fledged international, Fujino is Japan’s youngest-ever World Cup goalscorer and has twice been named the WE League’s Most Valuable Player.
But she’s confident that a move to City will help her to hit new heights, and described why her game is so well suited to our free-flowing style of play.
When asked to outline her key strengths, Fujino said: “My speed and movement to the goal.
“In whatever the situation is, we need to have a goal to win the game.
“We as a team have to make an impact and I have to make a lot of impact when I attack the goal.
“I always want to show that I’m comfortable going towards the goal and I would not miss the sense of direction toward the goal.
“I think this is best suited for the Club.”
Fujino already has a familiar face at the Joie Stadium in the form of international team-mate Yui Hasegawa.
And our new recruit revealed that she and Hasegawa had spoken previously about City.
“She said that the Club is very good,” Fujino continued.
“The way that they play with the build-up in games, even against the other football teams, even if you aren’t as physical, we have a very excellent technique so we can exceed other clubs.
“And also, she said the players are very nice and kind so this is a very good thing!”
