Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has become the first women’s player to score 100 goals for Manchester City in our professional era.

The Jamaican reached a century in sky blue with her first goal against Aston Villa, meaning she’s reached triple figures in just 120 games.

City went on to win 6-1 against the Villans, with Shaw ending the game on an astonishing four goals.

She now has 12 goals in 14 outings so far this term, and once again leads the race for the WSL Golden Boot, having finished as the league’s top scorer in each of the past two seasons.

It’s the latest incredible milestone of Shaw’s career at the Joie Stadium since the 2021/22 campaign which has seen her break a swathe of club and English football records.

In March 2024, her goal in a memorable 3-1 win over Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium saw her surpass Georgia Stanway’s tally of 67 goals for the club to become our highest women’s scorer of all-time.

That strike against our cross-city rivals contributed to her WSL total in 2023/24 of 21 which earned Bunny her maiden English top-flight Golden Boot – plundering those in just 18 games.

She then retained the prestigious accolade last season despite missing the final three months of the campaign through injury, sharing the award with Arsenal’s Alessia Russo after netting 12 WSL goals in 14 games.

In doing so, Bunny became only the third player in WSL history to win the Golden Boot in successive seasons alongside City teammate Vivianne Miedema and Chelsea’s Sam Kerr.

Of Shaw’s first 100 goals for City, 71 came in the WSL, 7 in the League Cup, 15 in the FA Cup and seven in the Champions League, although her tally in the league now stands at 74.

Among those in the top-flight, 22 have come across seven hat-tricks which is the most by any player in the competition’s history and her tally of three trebles against Spurs means she’s the player with the highest amount against a single team in the WSL.

Throughout her time at City, Bunny has been clinical inside the box with a combination of lethal finishing, expert movement and aerial dominance.

But her work for the team is also imperative to the way the Blues play, and her sparkling performances earned her our Player of the Year award in 2022/23 and 2023/24.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Bunny on the latest landmark in her phenomenal career so far!
