Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has highlighted Jess Park's role in City’s decisive goal in our 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

The Jamaican’s strike, her 14th in the league this season, was the difference as Gareth Taylor’s side moved level on points with the reigning champions and dealt them a first home defeat in 33 matches.

Park’s tenacity and creativity were crucial to the winner, with the youngster really coming into her element in a central role in recent weeks.

And the Jamaican was quick to praise the England international’s contribution, insisting their strong linkup is the product of hour of hard work on the training ground.

She said: “I’ve spoken a lot with Jess about communicating.

“When she picked that ball up, I was in her ear saying ‘drive it, drive it, drive it’.

“We’ve done it in training quite a few times so it’s about repetition.

“Jess did brilliantly to win it and slipped a good ball to me.”

City have now won each of our last 11 matches in all competitions following that statement victory at Kingsmeadow.

We’ve also recorded five successive clean sheets, four of which have come on the road, and are yet to concede a goal in 2024.

It’s a remarkable run of form, and one that Shaw believes is down to the entire squad pulling in the same direction.

“We’re a close group and this is what it’s all about.

“Coming here, we just wanted to get the job done, and that’s what we did.”
