City striker Bunny Shaw scored a second-half hat-trick as Jamaica thrashed Cayman Islands 9-0 in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifier.

The Reggae Girlz flew out of the blocks at the Truman Bidden Stadium and were 5-0 up inside 16 minutes thanks to Trudi Carter’s nine-minute hat-trick, plus an own goal from Tamoy Phillips and another from Jody Brown.

After that blistering start, Jamaica had to wait until the second-half to increase their lad, with City’s Shaw scoring the first of her 11-minute hat-trick on 54.

Further goals followed on 56 and 65 minutes before being replaced on 68 minutes by Kayla McCoy, who wrapped up an impressive away win with goal No.9 on 88.

It puts Jamaica, who have won all three qualification games so far, top of Group C on goal difference from Dominican Republic with a top of the table clash to come at Sabina Park on 13 April.

Meanwhile, Khiara Keating kept a clean sheet as England’s Under-19s earned a 2-0 win over Iceland and Ruby Mace was an unused substitute.

Goals from Agnes Beever-Jones and Freya Gregory earned victory, as Gemma Davies’ claimed their second win of the tournament, taking another step on the road towards the 2021/22 UEFA European Women’s Under-19 Championship.

The Young Lionesses face Belgium on Tuesday 12 April in the final group game, which kicks off at 13:30, in the knowledge victory would guarantee their place in the Finals.
