Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw has been selected to represent Jamaica at the 2023 World Cup.

The forward, who is her nation’s record goalscorer, has made the 23-player squad for the Reggae Girlz following another outstanding individual campaign.

In total, Shaw found the net 31 times in 30 appearances for City last season, the most by a Women’s player across a single season for the Club.

She was rewarded with a contract extension at the conclusion of the campaign, committing her future to the Club until the summer of 2026.

Shaw was joint-top scorer at the CONCACAF Women’s Championship in the summer of 2022, with Jamaica’s third-place finish earning them a spot in their second-ever World Cup.

The Reggae Girlz became the first Caribbean nation to qualify for the tournament in 2019, with Shaw providing the assist for their first and, so far, only World Cup goal against Australia in their final group match.

Their latest campaign begins with a Group F clash against France on Sunday 23 July, before fixtures against Panama and Brazil respectively.

Before then, however, Jamaica are taking part in the CAC Women’s Games, beginning with a clash against El Salvador on Friday 30 June.

Congratulations to Bunny on her selection for the 2023 World Cup!
