Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw highlighted City’s never-say-die attitude after a dramatic late win over Liverpool.

The Jamaican grabbed both of the Blues’ goals as Gareth Taylor’s side came from behind at Anfield to move back to the WSL summit.

A battle between two unbeaten sides, Shaw headed home the equaliser just before the hour, before smashing a 92nd-minute winner into the roof of the net for all three points.

For the forward, despite being pushed to our limits at times, City’s patience paid off.

She reflected: “It was a difficult game today. We knew it’d be a tough one with how Liverpool play, but we knew if we stick to what we’re capable of, we’ll get the opportunities to score.

“Luckily, we got the job done. The thing we have to keep developing and improving is our mentality.

“I think even when we were 1-0 down, we spoke at half-time that once they come out, let’s get an early one and put them on the back foot.

“At times it was difficult, but we managed to get there in the end.”

Shaw also emphasised the importance of the travelling fans in helping City over the line.

For the Jamaican, the atmosphere our away following made was crucial when the Blues were searching for a route back into the game on Merseyside.

And she believes the fans will play a crucial role across the season.

“The momentum from midweek, they came out and we definitely heard them,” the forward added.

“That’s what we’re going to need going forward for every game.

“Their support is massive for us and definitely helps us in the difficult moments.”
