Congratulations to Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, who has been voted the 2025/26 Etihad Player of the Season.

The Jamaica international topped the five-player shortlist which also included Kerstin Casparij, Yui Hasegawa, Lauren Hemp and Vivianne Miedema.

It follows a fantastic campaign for Bunny who helped Andrée Jeglertz’s side win the Barclays Women’s Super League title and reach the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final, set to be played at the end of May.

Due to her phenomenal goalscoring exploits across the term, Shaw once again broke new ground in sky blue with her tally of 26 goals in 31 games etching her name in the history books.

By winning the 2026 WSL Golden Boot with her top-flight tally of 21 goals in 22 games, she won the prize for the third consecutive season - a league first – while she’s also the first player to reach 20 strikes in three different terms.

Of those 21 strikes, she bagged four in a 6-1 win over Aston Villa in December 2025 which saw her become the first women’s player to reach, and then surpass, 100 goals for City.

Already named FWA Football of the Year and also nominated for the WSL Player of the Season prize for 2025/26, the Jamaican surpassed 100 goal contributions in the competition with her two strikes in our 4-1 final day win over West Ham.

And by doing so against Hammers, she became the second quickest player in the competition’s history to reach the milestone.

After winning the 2026 Etihad Women’s Player of the Season, Bunny said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for me, to receive this recognition from the fans means a lot.

“It’s been a special season for us all and to deliver the Barclays Women’s Super League to our supporters has been one of the proudest moments of my career.

“It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our fans and I wouldn’t have experienced the amazing personal moments this season without my teammates’ support, either.

“While this is a proud moment for me and my family, there’s still an FA Cup final to go and we’re all working hard to have another moment to celebrate this season.”

Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Bunny on winning the award and thank everyone who voted!
