Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s spectacular first goal against Liverpool has claimed the Barclays Women’s Super League’s March Goal of the Month award.

The Jamaican grabbed City’s third inside 24 minutes in remarkable fashion, picking up play from Laura Coombs, flicking the ball around the onrushing Gemma Bonner and unleashing a vicious 25-yard drive into the top corner.

Famed for her quality inside the box, the forward’s moment of individual brilliance demonstrated that she can be just as dangerous from distance.

It was also the perfect way to celebrate her first match since becoming the Club’s record goalscorer, a milestone she reached in our 3-1 win over Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

Shaw headed home City’s fourth soon after the restart at Prenton Park, building on earlier strikes from Lauren Hemp and Jess Park as Taylor’s side recorded a 12th consecutive WSL win.

But it was her first of the afternoon which has claimed March’s award, as she continues her pursuit of the WSL Golden Boot award.

The Jamaican’s tally for the season now stands at 19 goals in just 17 appearances, six ahead of her nearest rival in Lauren James.

Congratulations to Bunny Shaw on her latest award!
