Kerstin Casparij and Mary Fowler enjoyed productive maiden seasons at the Academy Stadium having been two of seven players who joined Gareth Taylor’s squad last summer.
Since then, they have played a combined 47 times in sky blue as we reached the semi-finals of the Continental Cup and battled valiantly for the Barclays Women’s Super League title and a Champions League place las term.
Despite narrowly missing out on the European places on goal difference, there were plenty of positives to build on which we will look to take into next season – with the Netherlands and Australia internationals set to play important roles in 2023/24.
First up, though, there’s the small matter of the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Both Casparij (the Netherlands) and Fowler (the Matildas) have been included in their respective nations’ 23-player squads for the prestigious showpiece which kicks off on 20 July.
Before jetting off to the southern hemisphere, the defender and striker posed for our Club photographers at Bury Arcade.
