Karen Bardsley, Izzy Christiansen and Laura Bassett will be special guests for our Matchday Live broadcast against Arsenal.

Getting under way on all our digital platforms from 11:25am, the show provides you with a City-centric outlook on what is a potentially crucial encounter in our season.

It’s third vs. fourth in the Barclays Women’s Super League as Gareth Taylor‘s side welcome the Gunners to the Academy Stadium for a 12:30 (UK) kick-off.

And our special guests will provide their expert insight alongside presenter Cel Spellman before, during and after the action.

Bardsley made over 100 appearances between the sticks for City before hanging up her boots this summer.

She and Christiansen were both founding members of our first professional women’s outfit, and won four trophies in as many years while both a part of Nick Cushing’s squad.

Currently plying her trade at fellow WSL side Everton, Christiansen headed home the winning goal in the 2014 Continental Cup final to help City earn our first major honour since our relaunch.

She would also win PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year in our title-winning 2016 campaign, before moving to Lyon in 2018.

Bassett, meanwhile, enjoyed a hugely successful career at the top of the women’s game, turning out for Arsenal, Chelsea and Birmingham City among others.

An FA Cup winner with the latter in 2012, the defender also made over 60 appearances for England between 2003 and 2017 before calling time on her career in 2018.

It’s a star-studded guestlist, and one that’s certainly not to miss!
