Andrée Jeglertz preview
The boss confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Brazil international Kerolin will be unavailable for our clash with the Gunners.
Jeglertz said she’s likely to miss out for ‘a number of weeks’, but our Head Coach wouldn’t go into detail about the nature of the injury.
However, he did confirm that Iman Beney would be available, having missed our London City Lionesses win last weekend.
Previous meeting
We last faced Arsenal in the Subway League Cup semi-final as City came out on top with a 2-1 victory and a place in the final against Chelsea.
The Blues took the lead when Mary Fowler found the top corner inside 26 minutes, before Arsenal levelled from the spot through Mariona Caldentey in the second half.
It looked destined to head to extra time, but Fowler once again stepped up to fire home with a dramatic 95th-minute winner.
Last time out
We extended our winning run to four games in the WSL with an impressive 4-1 victory over newly promoted London City Lionesses.
Vivianne Miedema headed in the opener, before Laura Blindkilde Brown doubled our advantage inside 14 minutes.
It looked like City were flying until Nikita Parris halved the deficit soon after.
But the momentum soon swung back in City’s favour when Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw scored from the penalty spot after the hour mark.
Shaw doubled her tally for the afternoon with another spot kick on the stroke of stoppage time to seal the victory at the Joie Stadium.
