Bunny Shaw struck on her 100th WSL appearance to give City the lead in the Manchester derby, but the Blues had to settle for a point.

In our seventh Barclays Women’s Super League game of 2026/27, the spoils were shared in Leigh on a cold night under the lights.

After a tense opening 45 minutes, it was our reliable number nine, Shaw, who opened the scoring on what was also her 100th appearance in the top-flight.

The Jamaican managed to pin Dominique Janssen in the penalty area before turning her and unleashing a thunderbolt of a strike which had Phallon Tullis-Joyce grasping at thin air.

With the minutes ticking down and City dropping deeper to protect our lead, there was to be late heartbreak.

From a long ball into the box, Elisabeth Terland reacted quickest to the loose ball in the penalty area before thumping home from close range.

City will still be pleased with a point on the road, but will be eager to return to winning ways with Champions League action on the horizon.
