Manchester City will face Leicester City in the Continental Cup on Wednesday 18 January after the match was postponed earlier this month.

The match will be played at the Pirelli Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 UK.

City were originally scheduled to face Leicester on 17 December, but a frozen pitch saw the fixture postponed.

We have already qualified for the quarter-finals but need to avoid defeat against Leicester in order to guarantee top spot.

Leicester face Sunderland on 11 January and if they win that fixture, they will have an outside chance of pipping us to the top spot.

Should we register a draw or better, we will face the winner of Group D. That group is also yet to be finalised with Lewes, Bristol City and Charlton Athletic all still vying for top spot.

The Blues are defending champions in the Continental Cup having defeat Chelsea at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane in March.

Two goals from Caroline Weir and an Ellen White strike earned us a memorable 3-1 win over Emma Hayes’ team.

So far in this campaign, we have registered a 6-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, a 3-0 defeat of Sunderland and a 2-0 victory over Liverpool.
