Kerolin grabbed Brazil's opening goal in an emphatic 5-2 friendly win over Costa Rica.

The City forward’s deft lob in the 11th minute set the tone for a dominant victory, meeting Duda Sampaio’s clever pass in behind with a smart first-time finish.

Further strikes from Jhennifer and Taina Maranhao saw the Brazilians cruise into a three-goal lead before the break, but Costa Rica pulled one back early in the second half through Priscila Chinchilla.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder then doubled her tally for the evening with just under 25 to play as the hosts threatened to pull off a remarkable turnaround.

However, a late penalty from Adriana Leal and a second from Jhennifer in stoppage time put the game beyond doubt for the Brazilians.

Kerolin played 78 minutes of the contest before being replaced by Gabi Zanotti, with her goal continuing her incredible form of late.

The Brazilian signed off for the latest international break with five goals in her last four WSL appearances, and has been shortlisted for February’s Player of the Month award.

And her strike against Costa Rica showed that her incredible form for City has translated onto the international scene.

Brazil are in action again on Wednesday evening, taking on Venezuela in another international friendly.

City v Spurs: Everything to Play For

We’re back in action at the Joie Stadium on Saturday 21 March, when we welcome Tottenham Hotspur for a 12:00 (UK) kick-off.

It all points towards another thrilling clash at the Joie Stadium. Seated tickets available from just £15 for adults and £6 for Under-16s, with standing tickets on sale for just £13 for adults or £5 for Under-16s.
