The date for Manchester City’s Continental Cup quarter-final tie against Bristol City has been confirmed.

Gareth Taylor‘s side welcome the Vixens to the Academy Stadium on Wednesday 19 January, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 (UK).

City booked our place in the knockout stages of the Conti Cup thanks to a comprehensive 5-0 win away to Leicester City at the Pirelli Stadium, which was enough to secure top spot in Group B.

Lauren Smith’s side also topped their group, with victories over Reading and Lewes, as well as a penalty shootout triumph over Crystal Palace seeing them into the last eight.

Bristol, who were relegated from the FA Women’s Super League last season, currently sit fifth in the FA Women’s Championship but are on an eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions which stretches back to October.

Our last encounter with the Vixens ended in a 3-0 City win at Twerton Park in March 2021, while our previous home fixture against next Wednesday’s opponents ended in an emphatic 8-1 win.

Gareth Taylor‘s side have won the Continental Cup on three occasions, most recently with a shootout victory over Arsenal in 2019, and have reached the quarter-final stage for an eighth successive campaign.
