An illustrious Manchester City club now has a new member…

After joining the Club in 2015 from Vancouver Whitecaps, Demi Stokes has featured in sky blue 200 times – making her only the third player to do so.

The versatile defender reached the milestone by coming on from the bench in City’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City in the Continental Cup.

And she’s now in esteemed company by doing so…

DEMI STOKES

Appearances: 200

During her eight years at the Club, Stokes has been a crucial member of City’s squad by delivering assured, dynamic and stern performances across our backline.

She’s scored seven goals in total throughout her time at the Academy Stadium, while lifting seven major honours in sky blue – including the Barclays Women’s Super League title in 2016.

Stokes made her 150th appearance for the Club in the 2020/21 campaign and penned a new deal in March 2021, before representing Team GB at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Her showings for City have earned her individual recognition, too, as she was named in the PFA WSL Team of the Year in 2018 and 2019.

An inspiration on and off the pitch.

STEPH HOUGHTON

Appearances: 238

Houghton is currently City’s highest appearance holder and counting!

Joining the Club in 2014, the centre-back has rubber stamped her legacy as a legend in sky blue after making the switch from Arsenal.

As captain, she has guided us to eight major honours – one league title, four Continental Cups and three FA Cups.

Although she’s earned recognition for her classy displays at the back, Houghton epitomises the ‘modern defender’ tag by scoring 19 goals during her time in Manchester.

In 2016, she was awarded an MBE for her achievements in women’s football both on and off the pitch and last season, became the first player to reach 100 WSL wins and 200 City appearances.

KEIRA WALSH

Appearances: 211

Walsh became only the second player to reach a double century of outings for City in March 2022.

The versatile midfielder made her debut for the Club as a teenager in 2014, before making 211 appearances in total.

During that time, she won eight major honours and also received our Women’s Official Supporters’ Club Player of the Season for 2016/17.

After eight years at City, Walsh moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2022.
