The forward initially joined the Club from Birmingham City in the summer of 2019, immediately establishing herself as a key figure in both Nick Cushing’s and Gareth Taylor’s sides.
She played a vital role in our 2020 FA Cup triumph – her first piece of silverware at City - and was also on target as we beat Chelsea in the Continental Cup final last season.
During her time at City, White also set the records tumbling on the international front, breaking Kelly Smith’s historic record to become England’s highest scoring women’s player in November 2021.

Overall record
In 90 appearances for Manchester City, White grabbed an impressive 34 goals.
It means that, on average, she found the net once in every three matches over her three full seasons at the Club.
Only four members from our current squad have made more appearances for City than the forward, the same total that have been able to better her final goal tally after moving to the Academy Stadium ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Fast start
After signing for the Club ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, City fans had to wait until October to see White in action after an early season injury.
However, it didn’t take her long to hit the ground running after she got off the mark against her former employers – Birmingham City – in November 2019.
White went on to score nine times in 18 appearances across her debut campaign at the Academy Stadium, including an impressive run of eight strikes in 14 matches over the winter period.
During that purple patch, the striker was also on target twice against Manchester United – a side against which she boasted an impressive scoring record – en route to our most recent FA Cup triumph in November 2020.
Derby delight
It’s often said that the best players step up on the biggest occasion, and few matches are more significant than Manchester City v Manchester United.
In this instance, White consistently demonstrated her ‘big game mentality’ for City, often proving a thorn in the side of our cross-city rivals over the years.
She grabbed a brace in her first Manchester derby – a 3-2 FA Cup win in January 2020 – and would go on to average a goal every other game against United during her time at the Club, while also picking up two assists.
She would only be on the losing side once in that time.
International record
During her time at City, White finished as her country’s top scorer in three of the four major international tournaments she featured in for England and Great Britain.
White made a combined 20 appearances at the 2019 World Cup, 2020 SheBelieves Cup, 2021 Olympic Games and this summer’s European Championships, finding the net on an impressive 15 occasions.
Only Wayne Rooney can better her tally of 52 international strikes for her nation, while she also retires as the Lionesses’ record goalscorer in the World Cup and SheBelievesCup.
It’s a similar story with Great Britain, with White’s haul of six strikes in eight appearances at the 2012 and 2020 Olympics more than any other player.
