Annie Hutchings played the full 90 minutes as England beat Belarus to claim their first UEFA Euro Under-19 qualifying win.

The 18-year-old started in midfield for the Young Lionesses, who got the better of Belarus 5-2 to kickstart their Group A4 campaign in Nyon.

Khiara Keating, meanwhile, was an unused substitute on this occasion.

Having been held to a 1-1 draw with Slovenia in their previous fixture, England put on a devastating first half display to put the game out of sight.

A brace apiece from Ipswich’s Freya Godfrey and Charlton’s Alex Hennessy, plus a further strike from Lucia Kendall saw Hutchings and co. go into the break with a 5-1 advantage.

And while Daria Markova would add a second for Belarus late on, building on Lia Tikhomirova’s effort after 30 minutes, England were full value for their emphatic victory.

With Spain beating Slovenia 6-0 to maintain their 100% record in the other Group A4 fixture, everything points towards a thrilling finale on Tuesday afternoon.

Two points separate first and second ahead of the final round of matches as England prepare to do battle with La Roja.

Just one team can qualify from the group, meaning only a win would be enough against Spain for Hutchings and co. to make this summer’s tournament.
