Manchester City can confirm Eve Annets will wear the number 12 shirt during her maiden campaign with the Club.

The goalkeeper has joined Gareth Taylor’s side from Reading – penning a four-year deal at the Joie Stadium after progressing through the Royals’ youth system.

An England Under-19s international, the promising 19-year-old has joined our exciting goalkeeping contingent due to her bravery in the box, calmness on the ball and spot-kick stopping ability.

Annets becomes the fifth different City player to wear the number 12 jersey for the Club during our professional era – succeeding Filippa Angledhal who departed the aJoie Stadium this summer.

New Zealand international Betsy Hasset first wore the shirt in 2014 before her move to Amazon Grimstad in 2015.

It was then taken by Georgia Stanway who had the number printed on her sky blue shirt from 2015 until 2019 when she swapped for 10 and Tyler Toland collected 12 ahead of the 2019/20 term.

The midfielder held it for a season before joining Glasgow City on loan in 2020/21 – meaning it was vacant for over a term when the Ireland international signed for Celtic permanently in 2021.

That was until Angeldahl arrived at City from BK Hacken in September 2021, where the midfielder wore the number 12 across 69 appearances in all competitions.

But with the Swede joining Real Madrid upon the expiry of her City contract in the summer of 2024, Annets will now be the proud owner heading into the new term.
