Summer signing Sam Mewis made an instant impact as City wrapped up pre-season preparations in impressive style with an impressive 4-1 friendly win over Everton at the CFA.

The American World Cup winner came on as a second half substitute and provided two assists and also scored for good measure in a fine first showing.

With Gemma Bonner Lauren Hemp and skipper Steph Houghton also on target, it was the perfect way for Gareth Taylor’s squad to round off preparations ahead of next weekend’s eagerly-awaited Community Shield clash with Chelsea at Wembley.
