Georgia Stanway and Caroline Weir have been shortlisted for the FA Women’s Super League Goal of the Season award.

The pair’s superb strikes against Birmingham and Manchester United have been nominated amongst the best goals of the 2021/22 campaign.

Stanway’s sensational long-range effort at St Andrew’s clinched the league’s Goal of the Month award in December: a 30-yard equaliser in a crucial five-goal thriller.

Weir is nominated for another outrageous Manchester Derby chip, as she planted an exquisite lob over Mary Earps for the second successive season to clinch victory over Manchester United. Unsurprisingly, the effort claimed March’s Goal of the Month award for both league and Club.

Our City stars face stern competition for the Goal of the Season prize, lining up alongside Pernille Harder’s clip v Manchester United, Katie McCabe’s chip against Aston Villa, Alessio Russo’s piledriver against Tottenham, Natasha Dowie’s lob against Leicester, Katie Zelem’s corner against Leicester, Yui Hasegawa’s finish against Reading and Sam Kerr’s volley against Manchester United.

Voting closes at 11:00am on Friday 13 May. Good luck to Caz and G.
