Gareth Taylor’s side welcome our cross-city rivals to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 23 March, with kick-off set for 12:30 (UK).
City, aiming to make it 11 wins in a row in the WSL, know victory would move us top of the table for at least 24 hours, with just five matches of the season left to play.
The visitors, however, need a win of their own to hand their top three prospects a boost.
On top of all of that, the small matter of local bragging rights, something City currently boast after successive derby wins in the league and Continental Cup, are also at stake once again.
It all points towards a thrilling clash at the Etihad, with a bumper crowd once again expected.
Ahead of the fixture, we asked three City fans who follow the team home and away to share their favourite moments from past derbies…

With two derby wins already this season, I’m confident that Manchester will stay blue this time around as well.
Playing them at Old Trafford for the first time this season back in November and walking away with a 3-1 win after going a goal down was epic. The atmosphere in the away end was incredible.
My other favourite Derby comeback was in the FA Cup at the Leigh Sports Village in the 2021/22 season.
City went 1-0 down in the first half but then came back and wiped the floor with them, scoring 4 goals in the second half.
What made that win even sweeter though was that all our goals were scored in front of the travelling fans.

My favourite moment ahs to be the away WSL fixture in 2021/22 when we drew 2-2.
That game had everything, unfortunately for us Georgia Stanway was sent off just before half-time, so the mood dropped a bit, but then Bunny Shaw put us ahead from Demi Stokes’ cross. We didn’t know what had happened, we’d seen a red card but then we were 1-0 up!
In the second half we held on until about the 75th minute, but then two quickfire goals put United ahead. We still believed in the team though because of how we were playing, and we did end up getting something out of the game.
We were at the other end of the pitch and saw Jess Park’s strike hit the crossbar and go in, but we didn’t realise Ellen White had actually tapped in the rebound. We didn’t care though, we were going mental in the away end, jumping on each other, celebrating.
It was amazing and proved a valuable point for us at the time to secure Champions League qualification over United at the end of the season.

The obvious choice would be Caroline Weir at the Etihad in 2019, beating Mary Earps from about 25 yards and finding the top corner.
But Bunny Shaw’s goal this season at ‘the other place’ was the best moment for me.
Running down the ball towards Earps and getting the deflection for our third goal just lifted the roof.
Tickets are still available to purchase ahead of the latest showdown between City and United, with adults priced from £10 and Under-18s from just £5.
