City cruised into the quarter-finals of the Women’s FA Cup with a dominant 8-1 victory over our Championship opponents.
It’s the second time this season that the Jamaican has taken home the match ball, and her tally now stands at 21 goals in just 20 appearances in all competitions.
And while the boss stressed that her value to the team goes far beyond her goal contribution, he was quick to praise Shaw’s clinical attacking display against the Vixens.
“She’s more than goals, Bunny, but when she’s scoring like that and the finishes she’s had today, left foot, right foot, she’s in real hot form and continuing it,” he said.
“It’s not a purple patch. To do it over the period of time she has done is really special.
“She’s such a formidable opponent to play against I’d imagine. It’s great to have her.”
City’s clash at the Robins High Performance Centre was our first since a potentially significant 2-1 victory over Arsenal before the international break.
First half goals from Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly set the tone for a deserved three points on that occasion, and the boss felt his side picked up where they left off with another quick start to proceedings.
He said: “We showed real similarities in that performance with the way we were really aggressive without the ball.

“I thought Alex [Greenwood] at the back was top and she led from that position, her and Steph [Houghton].
“It was a good professional performance from the girls. I thought we controlled the play early on as you would expect us to do against most teams.
“We scored some excellent goals. I thought the first half especially, we played some top football and scored some good goals.
“[Filippa] Angeldahl’s was a special goal, the way she hit it and there were some really well worked team goals as well.
“We exploited the high line a little bit from Bristol. To do that is difficult in these conditions with the wind.
“By playing the longer passes and making the runs as well, we executed some really good team goals in the first half.”
