Goals from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Lauren Hemp were enough to earn a 12th successive victory in all competitions, cancelling out a stunning Hanna Bennison strike in the process.
It means City go top of the WSL table for at least 24 hours, three points clear of Chelsea having played one extra match.
With seven matches still to be played there are sure to be plenty of twists and turns to come, and but the boss is predicting a dramatic finish.

“It always goes to the last game in my time,” Taylor explained in his post-match press conference.
“I don’t see that changing or anyone pulling away.
“It’d be nice if we could but just with the nature of the games and the setup of the league you won’t see anyone win it by ten points.
“We have to get ready and buckle ourselves in for the ride.”
When Hemp stroked home an impressive long-range effort on 55 minutes, it looked like City would cruise to a deserved and convincing victory at the Joie Stadium.
And while we ultimately did pick up the three points, Everton certainly made us work for it after Bennison halved the deficit around the hour mark.
Nonetheless, Taylor highlighted City’s character after the win, praising both his players’ ability to grind out the result and also stick to our principles even after conceding.
He added: “Of course, we’ve shone in that space of getting the job done. We know we can improve on a number of things.
“I was asked about goal difference, of course it becomes important when it’s important but winning is the most important thing. Nothing will change in my view.
“Everton had one chance at the start of the second half, I don’t see a change in us.
“If we drew or lost that game it has massive implications for sure, but we wouldn’t change. We’d just perfect what we do even more.

“The most impressive thing was our reaction to the goal. We didn’t panic, continued to open them up and the final part just wasn’t there.
“Laura [Coombs] was unlucky with the [Courtney] Brosnan save. There were a lot of good moments today.”
