Following a run of three wins and one draw across our opening four league fixtures of 2023/24, City currently occupy top spot in the league table.
We started the campaign with a strong 2-0 win at West Ham United where Lauren Hemp opened the scoring with a fantastic strike from the edge of the box, before Jill Roord scored her first for the Club, on debut, to extend our lead.
An early meeting between two title rivals followed when we welcomed Chelsea to the Joie Stadium.
In what proved to be a dramatic affair, nine-player City produced a heroic display to earn a 1-1 draw with a string of impressive saves from Khiara Keating keeping the title holders at bay.
And we followed up the success with an emphatic 5-0 win over Bristol City at home and a hard-fought 1-0 success away at Leicester.
It means we remain unbeaten in five games in all competitions at the beginning of the new campaign as we also started our Continental Cup campaign with a 2-1 win away at Everton.
Taylor faces competition from Matt Beard (Liverpool), Emma Hayes (Chelsea), Willie Kirk (Leicester) and Robert Vilahamn (Spurs) for the prize.
