Gareth Taylor has been named March’s Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Month.

The boss presided over a 100% record in the league which helped City move to the division’s summit with four matches remining.

We began March with a battling 2-1 victory over Everton where goals from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Lauren Hemp helped us to three points before suffering narrow cup defeats to Chelsea and Spurs.

However, we bounced back superbly by delivering an outstanding display at Brighton to secure a 4-1 victory on the road.

Taylor’s team followed up on our superb win in West Sussex by producing an electric display in front of over 40,000 supporters at the Etihad Stadium to beat Manchester United 3-1.

Jess Park broke the deadlock with a well-taken volley before the England international doubled our lead with a poked finish from close range.

The hosts started the second half strongly and extended our advantage further as Bunny became the Club’s all-time leading women’s scorer when breaking into the box and coolly slotting home.

City then rounded off the month with a clinical 4-1 win over Liverpool at Prenton Park which moved us to the top of the league table – albeit having played a game extra than second-placed Chelsea.

Taylor saw off competition from Liverpool’s Matt Beard, Brighton’s Mikey Harris and Chelsea’s Emma Hayes to claim the award.

Congratulations on winning March’s Manager of the Month, Gareth!
