The boss made ten changes to the side who beat West Ham United 1-0 in the Barclays Women’s Super League ahead of our final Continental Cup Group B fixture against Leicester City.
And it was one of those additions, Filippa Angeldahl, who grabbed the game’s only goal at the Pirelli Stadium.
Those two victories since the festive break have moved us to within touching distance of the WSL top three and secured passage to the quarter-finals of the Continental Cup.
Taylor is excited by what the season could bring, and believes that every member of the squad has a part to play in any potential success.
“We changed the team completely tonight apart from Leila [Ouahabi], and that was only because Demi [Stokes] wasn’t available,” he explained following our 1-0 triumph over Leicester.
“It shows the strength in depth we have now. I think that’s really exciting.
“Hopefully that’s going to be something that’s going to benefit us in the race for all the competitions in the second half of the season.”
City are now unbeaten in all competitions since September, winning 11 of our past 12 matches in the process.
And while the boss warned against his side making a habit of leaving it late to claim victory, he was ultimately pleased to see us get over the line despite a slightly off-colour display.
He said: “It’s always a good scoreline isn’t it, 1-0? You think back to the days of teams who are able to just knock out these types of wins.
“We dominated possession tonight and we dominated possession on Sunday [against West Ham United], we had 25 attempts on goal I think on Sunday. I don’t know what we had tonight.
“But, again, if you don’t work the goalkeeper, it leaves it until the last five or ten minutes before Filippa scores.
“I think there are some pleasing aspects [to the performance], but when you leave it that tight you always run the risk.

“Football never ceases to amaze you, there are always upsets and upsets can always happen.
“Drawing the game for us tonight would’ve been disappointing but actually, you probably would’ve come away going ‘did we do enough?’.
“We just about got there in the end.”
