Gareth Taylor has been nominated for January’s Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Month award.

The boss oversaw an 100% record across the month in all competitions as we extended our winning streak to seven straight matches with victories over Durham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Our successes over the Reds and Spurs came in the league which helped us move to within three points of the division’s summit.

Across those two WSL clashes, we scored an impressive seven goals and conceded just once.

After beating Durham 4-0 in the FA Cup, City came from behind at the Joie Stadium to beat Matt Beard’s side 5-1 thanks to a Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw hat-trick, a Chloe Kelly penalty and a Gemma Bonner own goal.

Following a 2-1 Continental Cup win over Manchester United, we then closed the month with a professional 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Brisbane Road.

After starting brightly in the capital, an Amy Turner own goal gave us the lead before Bunny netted her 14th of the season to double our advantage and help us to three points.
