Gareth Taylor is in contention to win April’s Barclays Women’s Super League Manager of the Month award.

City impressively climbed to second in the league table last month thanks to two wins across our three games – moving us to within only three points of league leaders, Manchester United.

Throughout the 270 minutes of action, we also scored 11 goals as we remain firmly in an exhilarating title race alongside our city rivals, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Despite a strong performance in the capital, Taylor’s side put our 2-1 defeat to the Gunners behind us by scoring six against West Ham in what was an electric City showing.

A Chloe Kelly brace set the tone for a sparkling display as further goals from Laura Coombs, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Steph Houghton and Mary Fowler secured a 6-2 success.

Goals were clearly on the agenda as we followed up the win with a 4-1 victory over Reading at the Academy Stadium.

Taylor faces competition from Willie Kirk (Leicester), Brian Sorensen (Everton) and Marc Skinner (Manchester United) for April’s prize.

And the Boss is aiming to win his third successive Manager of the Month award after winning February and March’s vote.
