City boss Gareth Taylor is up for the Barclays Women's Super League Manager of the Month award for October.

Taylor led City to three successive victories across the month to continue our brilliant start to the campaign, with his side now sitting top of the table with 13 points from five games.

October began with a 2-0 win over West Ham United at the Joie Stadium thanks to goals from Lauren Hemp and Mary Fowler.

We backed that up with a comeback win at Anfield, including a stoppage time finish from Bunny Shaw before rounding out the month by creeping past Aston Villa.

Taylor also successfully navigated two Champions League games during that period, with a memorable opening night win over Barcelona followed by success over Austrian side St Polten.

It all means that City remain unbeaten after nine competitive games so far this season, with just the opening day draw at Arsenal blotting an otherwise perfect record.

Taylor will now compete with Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor and Brighton’s Dario Vidosic for the monthly award.

This news follows Lauren Hemp‘s nomination for Player of the Month earlier today after the wingers stellar displays throughout the month.

Voting closes at 12:00 on Monday 28 October – choose Taylor for Manager of the Month here.
