A hat-trick in an 8-0 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest saw her overtake Nikita Parris in the Club’s scoring charts to become City’s record goalscorer with 64 strikes to her name - and extend her impressive scoring streak to nine in eight games.
Stanway and co. enjoyed a stellar January, clinching five wins from six in all competitions to climb the league table and progress in both the Continental Cup and Women’s FA Cup, scoring an astonishing 26 goals and conceding just two.
Also deputising in defence where needed, the 23-year-old - who scooped the league’s December Goal of the Month award - has earned more deserved recognition for her efforts.
The forward faced stiff competition from teammate Lauren Hemp, Manchester United’s Leah Galton, West Ham’s Dagny Brynjarsdottir as well as Reading duo Emma Harries and Natasha Dowie for the award - the latest achievement in an already-glittering CV.
