Grace Clinton has been selected to represent England in their two-legged 2027 World Cup play-off against Greece.

The midfielder is called up alongside six City team-mates to represent her nation, and will join up with the squad this weekend after their first leg tie.

She’s featured in six of the Blues’ opening seven fixtures in 2026/27, with Andrée Jeglertz’s side maintaining a 100% start in the WSL and an unbeaten record in Europe.

Clinton will join Anna Moorhouse, Alex Greenwood, Niamh Charles, Laura Blindkilde Brown, Lauren Hemp and Beth Mead in Sarina Wiegman’s squad ahead of a double-header with Greece.

The European champions travel to Heraklion on Friday 9 October with kick-off set for 17:30 (UK) for the first leg, with the return tie set for Tuesday 13 October.

That will take place at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium, with the match set to get under way at 19:30.

Should the Lionesses progress, then they will face the winners of Slovakia and Ukraine’s two-legged clash in a play-off final in November and December.

Everyone at City would like to congratulate Grace on being called up and wish her the very best while on international duty.
