She had to fend off the sizeable challenge for team-mate Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw as well as Manchester United duo Mary Earps and Nikita Parris, Arsenal’s Frida Maanum and Chelsea’s Pernille Harder for the award.
Hemp - who finished top of the goal and assist charts for Gareth Taylor‘s side in 2021/22, found the net for the first time in the league this season against Leicester.
The England international had also played a major role in the game’s opening strike when she set up Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw with a typically pinpoint cross.
That fine form continued the following week when the winger completed the scoring away to Spurs, finding the bottom corner after a typically mazy run into the box.
And while she didn’t add to her personal tally against Liverpool the following weekend, Hemp was on hand once again to set up Shaw at the Academy Stadium.
In total, the 22-year-old grabbed two goals and two assists in just three WSL matches across October.
