The centre-back sustained the injury while on international duty with Germany during their UEFA Euros semi-final defeat to Spain in July.
Across the tournament, she played all five matches for Christian Wuck’s side as they advanced to the last-four where they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Spain in extra-time.
It followed a superb first six months at the Joie Stadium for the defender after signing from Rosengard in January where she made 12 appearances in all competitions for City, scoring four times and assisting once.
Now back at the City Football Academy following the European Championships, Knaak will begin her short rehabilitation period under the guidance of the Club’s medical team.
Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Rebecca all the very best with her recovery.
