Kerstin Casparij helped the Netherlands to an emphatic 4-0 friendly triumph over Austria.

The defender started for the Dutch in Malta, featuring for over 80 minutes as her home nation cruised to victory.

The two sides had locked horns on Friday, with the Austrians coming out on top thanks to a second half fightback.

But Casparij and co. were in control from the get-go in the latest clash, with goals from Lineth Beerensteyn and Lieke Martens in the first 45 handing the Netherlands a commanding half-time lead.

And that continued after the break, with Beerensteyn grabbing her second of the evening before Esmee Brugts completed the scoring with 15 to play.

Casparij would be brought off with ten to play, but the City defender had already done her bit in preserving the clean sheet in Malta.

Elsewhere, Filippa Angeldahl started for Sweden as they drew 0-0 with Germany.

The midfielder had helped her nation to an emphatic 4-1 win over China just five days before their latest encounter.

However, Angeldahl and co. had to settle for a share of the spoils in Duisburg on this occasion, with City’s number 12 featuring for 75 minutes.

Julie Blakstad also started for Norway in their final Tournoi de France match, as they played out a goalless draw against France.

The 21-year-old started on the left flank for the Scandinavians before being taken off in second half stoppage time.

It means Norway finish third having finished with four points from their three matches against the French, Denmark and Uruguay.
