Jill Roord will wear the No.20 shirt for Manchester City.

The Dutch international is our first summer signing, moving to the Academy Stadium on a three-year deal from German side VfL Wolfsburg.

She boasts an impressive CV during her time in the game to date, including a Euro 2017 winners medal with the Netherlands and previously spent time in the Barclays Women’s Super League at Arsenal, where she enjoyed a successful two-year stint between 2019 and 2021.

By opting to wear number 20 for City, she will follow in the footsteps of three former players since our professional relaunch in 2014.

The most recent owner of the shirt was England international Lucy Bronze, who won five major honours across two separate spells at the Club before moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2022.

Before Bronze, fellow defender Megan Campbell had worn it from 2016 to 2020, before she took on number five for her final season at City.

Our original number 20 was Georgia Brougham, who featured eight times for the Club in our first two seasons since the team’s relaunch in 2014.
