Chloe Kelly has been named Joie Player of the Month for October.

The winger came out on top in our first fan vote of the season, fending off the sizeable challenge of Khiara Keating and Jill Roord.

Kelly was at the centre of a hugely successful month for City, in which we won four and drew one of our five fixtures in all competitions.

An ever-present across the month, the England international opened her account for the season with a stunning strike in our thrilling 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Picking up play on the edge of the visitors’ box, our number nine launched an unstoppable drive into the roof of the net to hand us the lead at the Joie Stadium, with only a stoppage to equaliser from Guro Reiten preventing nine-player City from earning all three points.

She then followed that up with a decisive strike against Leicester at the King Power Stadium as Gareth Taylor’s side ran out 1-0 winners.

Sent through on goal by Roord, Kelly’s low drive from distance was too powerful for Janina Leitzig, ensuring we finished the month top of the pile.

Her fine form has continued into November, with three goals and an assist against Arsenal and Liverpool in the Barclays Women’s Super League and Continental Cup respectively.

Congratulations to Chloe on being named October Player of the Month, and thank you to everyone who voted!
