Julie Blakstad has left Manchester City to join Hammarby IF on a permanent deal, subject to international clearance.

The Norway international joined the Club in January 2022, amassing 36 appearances and scoring 10 goals in all competitions during her time at the Joie Stadium.

She also helped City lift the Continental Cup in March 2022 as well as featuring in the FA Cup final of the same year, coming on as a substitute in our 3-2 extra-time defeat to Chelsea at Wembley.

The versatile midfielder’s switch to Gareth Taylor’s side represented her first taste of English football, and her performances in sky blue saw her named in Norway’s Euro 2022 and World Cup 2023 squads.

But the 22-year-old will now move on to pastures new, joining Swedish outfit Hammarby permanently.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to thank Julie for her contributions on and off the pitch, and wish her luck in the next chapter of her career.
