The 21-year-old was given the nod as part of Hege Riise’s 23-player squad for the tournament, which is being held in Australia and New Zealand.
Placed in Group A, Blakstad could feature in the first match of the competition, with Norway facing host nation New Zealand in Auckland on Thursday 20 July.
Hege Riise’s side also face Switzerland and the Philippines in the group phase as they look to improve on their Round of 16 finish in 2019.
An important figure at international level, Blakstad was also part of the Norwegian team at last summer’s European Championships.
She enjoyed a successful start to the season, grabbing nine goals and two assists in 16 matches, including finding the net in four successive outings.
However, spent the second half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at BK Hacken in a bid for more regular playing time.
In total, she has featured 29 times for City since joining the Club in January 2022, scoring ten times in the process.
Congratulations to Julie on her inclusion in Norway’s World Cup squad!
