Former City and England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley joined City 10 years ago today.

The legendary shot-stopper called time on her illustrious playing career at the end of the 2021/22 season.

A trailblazer for Club and country, the stopper enjoyed both domestic and international glory and has witnessed first-hand the remarkable rise of the women’s game across an incredible career which has spanned two decades.

City’s second signing as the Club turned professional, ‘KB’ played an integral role in our glittering success, playing her part in eight trophy triumphs in her eight-and-a-half years at the Club.

She was an influential figure between the sticks in our 2014, 2016 and 2019 Continental Cup successes, saving two penalties in the shoot-out win over Arsenal at Bramall Lane, has lifted three FA Cups and conceded just four goals in our FA Women’s Super League title win.
