City duo Kerstin Casparij and Jill Roord have been selected to represent the Netherlands at the UEFA Nations League.

The inaugural edition of the tournament will be used to determine the leagues for UEFA Euro 2025 qualification, while the top two teams will also qualify for next summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.

Roord and Casparij will pit their wits in Group A1 against England, Belgium and Scotland, with the winner from the round robin format progressing through to next year’s finals.

The Dutch face Belgium in Leuven on Friday 22 September, with kick-off set for 19:30 (UK) to kick-off their first Nations League campaign.

A home showdown with European champions England follows on Tuesday 26 September which gets under way at 19:00.

Our City duo both represented the Netherlands at this summer’s World Cup, as they reached the quarter-finals.

It was a particularly memorable tournament for new signing Roord, whose four strikes en route to the last eight set a new record for goals by a Dutch player at a single Women’s World Cup.

Keep across mancity.com and the official Man City app to find out how they both get on at the upcoming international break.

Congratulations to both Kerstin and Jill on their call-ups.
