Kerstin Casparji sees the last two performances as a catalyst to win silverware this season following City's 3-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Gareth Taylor’s side picked up back-to-back victories with a Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw brace and a thumping effort from Lauren Hemp capping a tireless performance at Brisbane Road.

And speaking to the media after the win, Casparji spoke highly of the squad’s belief to put defeats against Aston Villa and Chelsea in our opening two matches behind us swiftly.

“We’re so pleased, we have two wins in a row, it’s just great,” the Dutch right-back exclaimed.

“Obviously, we didn’t start well [against Aston Villa and Chelsea], but we believed and stuck to the process, and we believed in what we could do. I think that you really saw that last two games.

“Bunny [Shaw] is a beast, she’s so good, how many goals has she scored? Five, so that’s a lot.

“She’s doing really, really well. She’s a big asset for us.”

Casparji was one of seven signings this summer, joining from Eredivisie outfit FC Twente.

The 21-year-old has slotted in to her new surroundings effortlessly and praised the team for gelling together effectively in such a short period of time.

She said: “I didn’t expect it to gel so well, so quickly.”

“I mean, obviously with the first two games weren’t great, but now everything’s settling in very well and we really found our pace and found our feet.

“Especially for me as a person, but especially Laia [Aleixandri] as my centre back, I think things just went really well, really fast.

“We, of course we want to win the league, that’s something we must want at Manchester City, but at least win silverware and finish as high as we can.”
